History
Established in August 2021, the chapter was founded under the leadership of Dr. Amit Kumar, who served as its chair from 2021 to 2023. During his tenure, the chapter achieved significant milestones, securing global funds to organize a range of impactful activities including seasonal schools, distinguished lecturer programs, networking sessions, technical talks, and seminars, further enhancing the engagement of members in the field of sensor technologies.
Now, the chapter is under the capable leadership of Dr. Sangeetha Singh, who has taken the helm starting in 2023. Dr. Sangeeta Singh is leading the chapter into a new era of collaboration and growth. She is spearheading initiatives to foster partnerships between academia and industry, facilitating mutually beneficial interactions. Additionally, the chapter is actively planning joint events and collaborations with other societies and chapters to enrich the experience of its members and contribute to the broader sensor technology community. This new phase promises exciting opportunities for members to engage, learn, and innovate in the ever-evolving field of sensors.
Activities
IEEE Sensors Council Hyderabad section has successfully hosted more than 25 diverse events since its inception. These events have encompassed a wide spectrum of activities, including hands-on sessions, technical talks, and workshops featuring esteemed experts hailing from premier academic institutions and renowned industry professionals.
Notably, our most recent event, a technical talk titled “Learning with Limited Labels: Unsupervised and Semi-Supervised Learning in IoT Applications,” took place on August 11, 2023, at 6 PM. It served as an enriching opportunity for our members to delve into cutting-edge topics within the field of IoT applications.
In line with our commitment to continuous learning and collaboration, we are excited to announce our upcoming event for August 2023. In partnership with GPREC, we will be hosting an online talk on “Structural Health Monitoring Using IoT.” This event is scheduled to be held on September 1st and 2nd, 2023, from 2 PM to 4 PM. As we move forward, our objective is to build upon our wealth of experiential knowledge and create innovative programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our membership in the year 2023.
